Million-Dollar Marketing on a Budget


Businesses thrive on marketing regardless of their size. The more money 
you can dedicate to your marketing efforts, the more customers you’ll be 
able to reach. While huge companies may have million-dollar marketing 
budgets, you can still follow their lead without spending quite as much.

Every major marketing campaign has a few important elements. Large 
companies may spend a lot to incorporate them into their marketing, but 
you can do the same thing with a much smaller budget.

The reason for this is that the power of these elements aren’t tied to the 
amount spent on them. The following are a few of the most useful.

Branding

Every major business spends a significant amount of money on their 
branding. The brand is what builds equity, it’s what people associate with 
the promises made in the marketing. Apple, Microsoft, and Verizon are all 
easily recognizable brands that play a major part in the company’s 
marketing.

Your business may be no bigger than a simple website, but that doesn’t 
mean it shouldn’t have a brand. A good brand helps people identify with 
your business and what it does. The more recognizable your brand is, the 
easier your marketing becomes. Pick something catchy and relevant, 
create a logo, and include it in all your marketing material.

Packaging

Everyone knows you’ve bought something from Tiffany’s, because it 
comes in a distinctive blue box. Apple products come in futuristic white 
boxes. Verizon products tend to come in black packages. Every company 
has a distinctive look to their packaging and this generally carries over to
their retail locations as well as promotional materials.

You’ll get more out of your marketing efforts if you keep a cohesive and 
consistent design for everything you do. Your website should match your 
book covers, which should match the banner ads, which should also match 
your business cards. When everything has a distinctive look, people will 
have no trouble recognizing you.

Personalization

Plenty of major businesses have relied on a mascot or spokesperson of 
some sort. Geico has their gecko, McDonald’s has Ronald, and MetLife has 
Snoopy. This works because it helps personalize an otherwise complex 
and abstract corporation. People won’t typically identify with an insurance 
company but they respond well to a computer-animated lizard.

The cheapest way to do this is to become your own spokesperson. Make 
sure people identify you with your brand and business. When you show 
up in a video or on a podcast, they will instantly know who you are, what 
you do, and what you stand for. This is one of the main goals of 
marketing, so you can see how valuable it can be.

investment in research and design, but the return is incalculable and will

4 Ways to Improve Conversions with Content

Sometimes we tend to overthink our sales presentation. Often the best
solution is the simplest.

For example:

  • 60% of small business entrepreneurs who start an online business
    don’t put their phone number of their home page
  • 75% don’t have an email address or a link on the front page of their
    website
  • 66% fail to put a contact form on their website so visitors can ask
    questions, leave comments or request more information

If your online business website doesn’t offer the simplest things your
visitors are looking for, then of course it’s going to fail.

A Real World Example

One simple tweak – putting their phone number in the top right corner of
their homepage with the message “Call Us” – and their calls increased
54%, their social media referrals increased 44% and their conversions
substantially improved.

Including things like your phone number, email address, contact
information, and other trust-building elements are some of the simplest
and most effective ways to create a personal connection with your page
visitors.

Four Things Your Online Business Website Must Have

Look at your current website. Does it contain these four ways to improve
conversions with content?:

  • Your business’ phone number, email address and/or contact
    information
  • A way for visitors to ask questions, leave comments or otherwise
    interact with your business
  • Easy ways for visitors to give your business social approval signals
    such as Facebook “Likes”, Google+ +1’s or other ways to recommend
    you to their social media contacts
  • Testimonials, awards, security logos, privacy policies and other
    content that provides social proof that your business is trustworthy
    and safe.

More Conversions, More Customers, More Money

You can have the optimal layout, a laser-focused CTA, appealing
images that grab the visitor’s attention and hold onto it, and remember
to include the simple things that many small online business websites
forget.

But you can still fail to consistently convert visitors into customers if your
online business site’s readability is not great.

Fortunately, improving readability is one of the easiest fixes:

  • Use large font sizes – The larger the font size, the easier it will be
    for visitors to read, especially if they are viewing your web page
    on a laptop, tablet or mobile device.Text should be in at least 14
    to 16 point, or even larger if you have the space.
  • Consider line height – The space between lines of text is important.
    If it’s too cramped, it’s going to be difficult to read. Set your line
    height at 24 point.
  • Contrast – The contrast between your text and the background can
    determine whether your copy is easy to read or next to impossible to
    see. Black on white is the starkest contrast. If you are using a
    colored background, be sure to choose a color for your text that
    provides easy visual contrast.
  • Narrow Lines – Narrow columns are easier to read that wide
    swaths of copy.
  • Break Up Copy with Sub Headlines – When viewers see large
    blocks of copy on your page, they find it exhausting and generally
    won’t read it.
  • Bullet Points – Why use a dozen words when two will do? Bullet
    points give the key information to your visitors as effectively as
    possible.

Every element of your web page is important and plays a key role in the
success of your online business. While landing on the Google front page
is a great accomplishment, it’s not enough to keep your business thriving
and successful.

Incorporating these techniques will help you convert your visitors into
customers so you can make more sales, more revenues, and higher
profits.

create a marketing strategy that is designed to deliver a particular 
message to your target audience.

This can be used to tell customers how your product is better than 
others, how it’s more affordable, or how it’s different than anything 
they’ve seen before.

The problem with all of this is not what it does, but how it does it. The 
internet has changed society in countless ways. One of the most relevant 
to marketing is that people now expect some sort of interaction. Your 
audience wants to do more than just read something, they want to discuss 
it…with you, even!

Learning to market in a way that engages your audience will increase the
effectiveness of everything you do.  Let’s take a look at a few common
engagement strategies and how they benefit marketers by helping to

Discussions

Nearly every website will have a comments section. Visitors stop by to

did correctly. Try to determine the key factors that made the campaign so

Joint Ventures Can Help You Make Money Online Fast

Traffic is the lifeblood of marketing. Whether you’re selling a product, 
offering a service, or simply running a website, you need a steady stream 
of traffic before you can make any money.

But as you might have experienced by now, generating traffic is often 
harder than you might expect. There are a lot of things competing for 
people’s attention these days. While a high-value product or service 
once stood out on its own, now you need to give it a bit of a push.

Tapping into someone else’s traffic through a joint venture is the 
quickest and easiest way to make money online fast..

I’ve personally done this a number of times and it has almost always 
drastically increased the traffic flowing to one of my offers.

Here’s how you can do it, too:

Step 1: Find potential partners

The first step is to find someone to joint venture with. The ideal

Message boards and other online communities are a great place to start

a few popular websites and find the contact information for the person 
that runs them. 

Step 2: Reach out to them

Remember that a JV partner is different from a customer. When you 
contact them, you’ll likely be speaking with a fellow marketer.

Treat them like a person you’re interested in getting to know. Tell them 
about yourself, what you need the traffic for, and what you can do for them. .

Step 3: Provide them with what they need

Your partner will be sharing their own personal traffic with you. This 
could be their own readers, clients, or customers, so they will be a bit 
protective.

Make sure your potential partner understands everything you’ll be doing. 
Tell them about the offer, link them to the website, and maybe even 
include a free sample of your product.

Step 4: Pay them forward

Since this is a joint venture, you probably won’t be paying for the 
traffic up front. But of course, your partner will want to get something in 
return for all of the people they’re sending your way. One idea is to offer 
them a percentage of the profits.

Getting tons of traffic from a joint venture can be great but it can be 
tricky to find the right partner. Even when you do, there’s no guarantee 
they will be sending you actual leads and not just window shoppers.

6 Steps to Starting an Online Business

There are tons of offers to promote, but few will ever have the power and 
uniqueness needed to put a lot of money in your pocket.

Starting an Online Business has been a way countless people have used
to accumulate extra needed cash, build a retirement nest egg, and many 
have used their online business to quit their 9-5 J.O.B. and become very
successful entrepreneurs.

This is how I do it:

Know the Target Market

Your target market is the first thing you need to consider. Starting an 
online business appeal directly to a specific group of people.

Creating high quality, great value offers is the way countless Online 
Business owners have managed to build lists, generate revenue, and 
grow their business.

You’ll need to offer something useful—something they’ll want to use or 
learn from. The key to a successful offer is simply creating something 
your target market is hungry for.

You can discover what this is by doing a bit of research. Try to find a 
relevant message board and look at the questions being asked. 
Investigate offers from other people, keeping an eye on what they’re 
offering and the way their offer is presented.

What’s in it for them?

The main selling points of your offer will be the benefits. When starting 
an online business you’ll need to determine what someone will get out 
of products or services you are promoting. Maybe it’s a program that 
makes their life easier. It could be an educational course that answers 
a number of questions they have.

Perhaps it’s simply a new technique or product which will improve what 
your potential customers are already doing.

Features

Once you’ve figured out the benefits, you need to come up with the 
features. These are the nuts and bolts of what they get when they 
purchase. No matter what you do, there is probably some competition.

An impressive set of features (which show HOW a buyer will realize the
benefits) will make your offer appear much more valuable. Add features 
wherever you can to support the benefits.

Build value before price

Far too many people chose a price and try to create an offer around that.

When starting an online business the price of a product or service is 
relative to what it’s worth to the buyer. If something is of an extremely 
high quality, offers a long list of benefits, and has more features than 
other options, then even a high price will seem low.

The more value you can build the better. Keep adding to the offer. Show 
them what they can earn, save, or the dollar values of the offer’s 
components.

Guarantees

People are often reluctant to spend money. They want to be sure they’re 
getting a good deal, and avoid the risk of loss.

This is why you need to add a guarantee. This could be as simple as a 
guarantee to refund anyone who isn’t satisfied or as complicated as a 
warranty with maintenance.

Call to action

The call to action is the last and possibly most important thing to include
in an offer when you are starting an online business.

At the end of the sales copy, you need to clearly and boldly tell your 
potential customers what to do. If you want them to buy something, 
contact you, or submit their email, you need to tell them exactly how to
do it, and do it NOW.

The call to action is the culmination of everything your sales copy has 
been building.

With practice you can learn how to create your own killer offers. It does, 
however, take a lot of time and effort to write, test, and revise until it sells 
well.

One of the most frequency questions I am asked by family, friends and associates
is: How to start a Business on the internet?

A lot of people hoping to make money online are limited to working at it just
a few hours per day or less.

If you’re working a day job and are frustrated that you can’t spend more
time becoming financially free, but you are serious about how to start a
business on the internet,  I have some good news for you.

Do you know what’s even more effective than having more time to work?
Getting as much as you possibly can out of the time you do have available.

The reason is that if you’re not focused and effective during a short period
of time, then having all day would just mean more wasted time. As a mentor
of mine once said, “If you can’t make money in your spare time, you can’t
make money full-time.”

So, If you are truly interested in How to Start a Business on The
Internet here are 5 proven tips I want to share, that will help you to get
even closer to your income goals in less time.

How Our Brains Work Against Us

There’s a meme floating around called “Scumbag Brain” that jokes about
howthe human brain works against us sometimes instead of doing what we
want it to.

For example…It’s easy to get motivated, but hard to stay disciplined.

Perhaps you’ve noticed that gritting your teeth and relying on willpower
alone is not enough.

Think of the last time you were on an exercise program that did not last.
You went to the gym religiously for several weeks…until you caught a cold,
or missed a day.

Then, it was back to your old habits and behavior again—not to mention
feelings of guilt and self-blame (which make it even harder to bounce back).

One of the keys to Starting a Business on The Internet is to avoid self-
criticism by understanding how your mind works. We all get lazy or have
setbacks. The key is to get back on track again quickly when (not if) it happens.

Schedule 90-120 Minute Time Blocks

The easiest way to get something done is to set a specific time and place to
do it,  and then show up when the time comes. Otherwise, your goals and
plans are not  concrete enough, and you can fall into the procrastination
trap.

It’s also a fact that people can only stay focused and productive for 90 to
120 minutes at a time, before we need a rest or diversion.

Also, treat your scheduled commitment to yourself as seriously as you
would your job.Isn’t it just as important?

Prioritize Your Top 5 Items

When you start a business on the internet it helps to list the top 5 tasks
to accomplish each day, preferably the night before.

Then, when the time comes to work, work on one thing at a time, starting
with the most important action item of the day.

When it’s finished, move on to item #2, and so on, until done. Do NOT try
to do two things at once! Multi-tasking is a myth and a joke.

Create an Environment for Focused Work

Your performance is affected by the environment you’re in and the tools
available to you, positively or negatively. Give your body and mind what they
need to perform by setting up your workspace for success.

Before you start, clear out the clutter and remove any potential distractions.
Have only one window open on your computer. Get away from email, phone,
and social media until your work block is over. You can schedule a separate
session for phone calls and email.

.Take a Fun Break!

Lastly, don’t forget to give yourself the rest you need, in order to have the
concentration reserves you need to fuel your work.

So make a point to schedule periods each day for breaks, leisure, and fun
as well as working on your business.

I Love My Business!

Some business owners think that business is a chore. They think they 
have to work long hours through gritted teeth, deal with nightmare 
customers and say goodbye to weekends and holidays.

It's just the harsh reality of being a business owner, they say.

I don't want you to have a business like that, and I don't believe it needs 
to be that way.

I believe you can have a business that you LOVE. One that gets you out 
of bed every day.

Why am I so confident to say this? Because that's exactly how I feel about 
my business.

Since I started the business I'm doing right now, I've had the opportunity 
to travel to so many places. Costa Rica, Mexico, Las Vegas and Fiji to 
name a few.
